Women in Property - Appointment - Rosemary Tinker
Date: 03 Mar 2006
The Association of Women in Property's new Chairman from March 2006 is quantity surveyor Rosemary Tinker, now Project Manager at AYH plc, Construction and Property Consultants.
Women in Property's 1250 members are drawn from all the professions in the property and construction industry. With over 100 events a year, 10 regional branches and a multi disciplined membership, this non- profit making Association provides a unique forum for business opportunities, professional development, discussion and networking.
Rosemary Tinker says: "The Association has a strong business ethos coupled with a membership representing the complete range of disciplines across property and construction. Between us we can provide skills and knowledge to meet the needs of the entire property lifecycle.
"During my year I want to emphasise and develop these benefits encouraging members to have a greater understanding of the different roles they fulfil, from engineers to lawyers and suppliers, through to clients."
Rosemary's experience as a contractor and consultant makes her well placed to understand the industry from a variety of perspectives. Her work at AYH has included quantity surveying, facilities management and project management. She has also been responsible for the development and ongoing maintenance of the companies management systems.
The Association encourages girls and women to join the property and construction professions through its participation in schools and universities and offers a formal and informal mentoring service for members as they progress up the career ladder.
