Building consultants Tuffin Ferraby Taylor (TFT) has strengthened its interior design team by recruiting two new professionals.

The expansion, which coincides with the team's move from Guildford to Kingston upon Thames, coincides with major new business in the South-east - including education projects for the Royal Borough of Kingston, and refurbishments at Notre Dame school, Cobham.

Experienced interior designer Rebecca Wall joins TFT from a background in retail and leisure. Her work includes night-club design for Luminar Leisure, the refurbishment of Top Shop in Oxford Street, and worldwide redesigns of Accessorize and Monsoon stores. At TFT, she works as an interior designer on pub refurbishments for JD Wetherspoon, and on the Barbican YMCA refurbishment.

Architectural technician Lucas Lorenzo comes to TFT from architectural practice Creative Union, a specialist in pub design. Lucas has worked for many national pub chains, including Pubmaster and Scottish & Newcastle. His TFT work includes designing outdoor smoking areas of licensed premises, in accordance with the recently passed no-smoking legislation. Out of hours, Lucas concentrates on his flying lessons - he is due to take the test for his private pilot's licence in May.

Design team head Malcolm Flegg says the expansion comes at an exciting time for the team.

"Rebecca and Lucas will add greatly to TFT's design capabilities," he says. "By combining their strengths with the rest of our team, they'll add to our ability to take on even bigger projects in the future."
