Nelson Bakewell - Mixed-Use Sale - Richmond-upon-Thames, Richmond College Sells Buildings for £2.25m
Date: 01 Nov 2006
Richmond Adult & Community College have disposed of its premises in Kew Road, Richmond, Surrey, TW9 2PN in a £2.25 million deal to Marble Shelf Developments Limited.
The property located in central Richmond, comprises circa 12,000 sq ft in a series of buildings on a long and narrow site of 0.46 acres.
The property dating from the 1800s was originally designed and used as a tram station, then as a fire station. For the last 25 years the College owned and occupied the property for use as painting and pottery studios.
The College chose to sell due to the buildings being inefficient for them and as part of their strategy to consolidate their property campuses.
Marble Shelf intend redeveloping the property and maintaining its educational use and has pre-let the space on a subject to planning basis to Alpha Plus Group Limited for use as a boys prep school.
Nelson Bakewell represented Richmond Adult & Community College and Purkiss Featherstone Dare represented the purchaser.
