The Hotels & Leisure Division of Goadsby have handled the recent sale of the East Close Country House Hotel, standing in 7 acre grounds and fronting the main A35 trunk road through the New Forest. A consortium of locally based businessmen identified the East Close as an operation with enormous potential and, with them, they bring vast experience in both the hospitality and property sectors.

An extensive refurbishment programme has already commenced to improve the substantial ground floor trading area and bring the letting rooms up to the very highest standard. This transaction follows the disposal of the Old Vicarage Hotel at Hinton boasting a 10 acre site and its own private cricket ground. Sold to a high profile Christchurch publican this sale was also conducted by Goadsby.

Divisional Director, Ian Palmer commented, "Whilst we tend to dominate this particular market to the west of the New Forest, we are aware that owners of Forest property tend to gravitate towards Southampton when choosing an agent. However, with the emergence of our commercial office in Southampton becoming increasingly active within the leisure sector, there is no other agent with specialist representation either side of the New Forest and therefore better placed than Goadsby to source purchasers for this area".
