Suburban Style Bar Co Ltd has recently exchanged to become the latest tenant at Leeds £150M regeneration project, The Gateway. The £750,000 investment will see the bar move in to the space underneath the ETAP Hotel at the award winning East Street development.

The well known chain has bars and bistros in Chapel Allerton, Horsforth, Otley, Bingley and Baildon making this the group's first foray in to the city centre; a decision that will see The Gateway venture named Suburban Bar.

"All our current bars and bistros are fitted out to a very high standard, and we opted to retain our design team for this project," commented Andy Longman, managing director of Suburban Style Bar Co Ltd. "With the Gateway being on the edge of the city centre, developments such as these are becoming the new suburbs so we think the name of the bar goes well and is very fitting."

The 4,200 sq ft unit will be fitted out and ready for opening in late August, at which point the bar will join the already established Hirst and Miller Hair Studio, Motiv8 Gym, Aroma coffee house and ETAP hotel.

The Gateway Development Director Stephen Holman comments: "By October a further 300 apartments will be released at The Gateway, making it the perfect time for us to welcome Suburban Style Bar. We recognise that our occupiers lead busy lives and while many schemes are close to the amenities that their occupants desire, The Gateway has these facilities on site, making it the city's most convenient development.

The deal comes off the back of news concerning The Gateway's letting of 1,500 sq ft for a Best One convenience store to be operated by Mr Ramesh Patel. The store is expected to be open by the end of September.

Construction of Phase Two at The Gateway is approaching completion and will boast 25,000 sq ft of prime office space and a further 298 luxury apartments. When the scheme is completed it will provide 650 apartments and a total of 40,000 sq ft. of office space.
