Jomast Developments - Mixed-Use Development - Hartlepool, Trincomalee Wharf

Date: 26 Jun 2008

A major, multimillion pound scheme that will significantly transform and redevelop the waterfront at Hartlepool Marina has been given the go-ahead by Hartlepool Council.

Planning permission has been granted on plans submitted by Stockton-based Jomast Developments to redevelop a 4.65 hectare site at Jackson Dock and build a new luxury 4* hotel, restaurants, retail outlets, office accommodation and exclusive waterside apartments.

The prestigious scheme will effectively link the marina with the town centre and is seen by many as the final piece of the jigsaw for Hartlepool Marina. It will compliment the significant regeneration that has already taken place over recent years and create a strong gateway to the vibrant marina community.

Jomast Developments Managing Director, Stuart Monk, explained, "We are very pleased that planning permission for the scheme has now been granted. Trincomalee Wharf is a highly prestigious development that will add an exciting new dimension to the marina. It has the potential to become a new landmark destination for the North East and will benefit the town, its people and the wider business community. With any such scheme we will now have to take account of the conditions and deal with all reserved matter."

Established in 1971, Jomast Developments is one of the North East's leading businesses. Last year, the Company was named as the preferred developer for the site by joint owners Hartlepool Council, HMS Trincomalee Trust and English Partnerships.
