Hampshire and Isle of Wight auction results.
Land and property auctioneers Clive Emson has raised more than £14.5m in its fifth round of regional auctions in Hampshire, Sussex and Kent.
The Hampshire and Isle of Wight auction, held at the Rose Bowl stadium near Southampton, attracted nearly 150 people and telephone bidders.
Highlights included a small copse, with three telecoms masts, near Micheldever Station, near Winchester, going under the hammer for £100,000.
Investor interest in the Isle of Wight also led to five lots there selling. They included a seafront lower ground floor flat at Ryde, leasehold, with consent to convert into two two-bedroom flats, going for £87,000, more than £37,000 the guide price.
A three-quarter acre field with potential, on Main Road, Chillerton, on the Island, was sold for freehold £28,000, double its estimate, after Southern Water put it on the market.
The utility also realised £14,000 for a small parcel of freehold land on the Island, with a shallow water collection pit and old brick building, which went for nearly four times the original estimate. The site is at Luccombe Chine, Manor Road, Wroxall, Ventnor.
Rob Marchant, Clive Emsons regional auctioneer for the Isle of Wight and Hampshire, said: Properties on the Island continue to attract investors for a variety of good reasons, with lots of interest from mainland buyers as well.
Meanwhile a one-acre site with potential near Andover sparked fierce bidding. It went for £17,000 far in excess of the £2-4,000 guide price. The land is by the Travelodge, A303 Westbound, Barton Stacey, Andover.
The next auction by the company takes place at the Rose Bowl on Wednesday, November 4.
