Forsters acts on redevelopment and restoration of central London's landmark Hippodrome.
Forsters has acted for the freeholder of London's historic Hippodrome in relation to a development agreement for the £20m plus refurbishment of the Grade II listed building.
One of the West End's most popular landmark buildings will re-open as a world-class entertainment venue in mid 2011. The Hippodrome will include a casino, a 160-seat cabaret theatre, a fine dining restaurant, hospitality lounges, several bars and a new 4500 sq ft Chinese community centre.
The developer / tenant, United Leisure Gaming, is currently carrying out the main redevelopment and conversion works, and the freeholder, Gascoyne Holdings Ltd, is undertaking the restoration of the exterior. The premises are to be let to the tenant on a 30 year lease with reviews every five years.
Forsters commercial property partner Matthew Swainston acted for Gascoyne Holdings Ltd together with construction partner Sarah Cook, property finance lawyer Victoria Edwards and planning lawyer Tim Taylor.
United Leisure Gaming were represented by Berwin Leighton Paisner; David Levy led the team.
