Ex-tennis star becomes chartered surveyor for Knight Frank.
Sheffield, UK - A former tennis star has qualified as a chartered surveyor at the Sheffield office of Knight Frank after swapping the court for a career in the property industry.
Andrew Harrison, 26, spent two years as a semi-professional travelling around the UK, Europe and North Africa playing in world-ranking tournaments before embarking on a law degree at the University of Sheffield.
Originally from Lincoln, Andrew then completed a one year MSc conversion course in real estate management at Oxford Brookes University before having a week of work experience at Knight Frank, leading to a full-time position.
Two years on, Andrew recently passed his Assessment of Professional Competence (APC) training to become a chartered surveyor.
The APC involved Andrew focusing on seven core areas, completing a diary of work and submitting a log book and critical analysis.
He then passed an intense final assessment - giving a presentation to a panel of assessors followed by a question and answer session.
Andrew said: "I am naturally delighted to qualify as a chartered surveyor and it's been a great experience to take part in the training programme over the past two years. I've gained a much wider understanding of the industry as well as developing professionally and learning some valuable new skills.
"Knight Frank remains an exceptional practice with an impressive client list and I am looking forward to progressing further within the company in the coming years."
Andrew will now be focusing on investment work within Yorkshire splitting his time between the Leeds and Sheffield offices.
