Hodgson Elkington - Lincoln, Newlin Business Park

Expansion for Lincoln business park.
A Lincoln business park is poised for further expansion after completing the first successful phase of its development just off Doddington Road.
"We have now secured 100% occupancy of the first phase of Newlin Business Park and encouraged by the take-up the Lincoln-based developer, Laing Development Limited is now preparing to begin phase two of the scheme in the months ahead," said Matt Johnson of Hodgson Elkington, the Lincoln based chartered surveyors who are marketing and managing the development.
"I wanted a location to the south of Lincoln with quick and efficient connections to Newark and the motorway system. It is important that we can pick, pack and distribute goods quickly. I also have to travel to London frequently," said Colin Johnson of Duet Marketing, which supplies readers' goods purchased from newspapers and the internet and the last business to occupy the remaining unit on phase one. "Looking ahead we are hoping to expand our office into the next phase when completed," said Mr Johnson who has seen turnover and workforce double in the last year.
"As the business park expands we also hope and plan to expand our business taking more space in the next phase in the year ahead," said Chris Peacock, director of Auto Shine UK Limited, a wholesale supplier of professional car valeting and cleaning supplies, which had outgrown premises in Billinghay and recently opted to move to Newlin Business Park because of its ideal location close to the A46 and motorway connections.
Auto Shine supplies more than 300 customers with products from the Thames Valley, through the Midlands, Lincolnshire and and Yorkshire.
Newlin Business Park situated on a one acre former gas distribution 'brownfield' site on Exchange Road, off Doddington Road is expected to create 50 new jobs and will provide fifteen small to medium sized workshop / warehouse units for sale or to let. The completion of the first phase of five units covers approximately a third of the proposed completed development.
"This is a rare development where businesses can buy their own premises for under £100,000 and we are seeing a good level of forward interest and envisage a good take-up once phase two gets under way," said Matt Johnson.
"We believe the ongoing success of Newlin Business Park is that it is ideally located in Lincoln's main business district to the south west of the city with Doddington Road providing direct access to the A46 Lincoln bypass and the city centre is easily accessible via Tritton Road. We feel confident that the next phase of our development will provide new opportunities for a mix of growing and expanding businesses," said Philip Laing, managing director of Laing Development Limited.
