Date: 09 Mar 2010
Real Estate North - new exhibition for commercial property sector in north of Germany.
This international exhibition for commercial property makes its debut on 2 and 3 June at the Tango Terminal at Hamburg Airport.
Real Estate North is organized at the initiative of, and with the support of the Hamburg Metropolitan Region - i.e. the 18 regional investment companies from the states of Schleswig-Holstein, Hamburg and Lower Saxony.
The event brings municipalities and economic and metropolitan regions together with real estate developers, consultants and agencies, facility and project managers, investors, architecture agencies and providers of information and communications technologies.
- Hamburg Senator Gedaschko and Lower Saxony State Secretary Liersch to open Real Estate North on 2 June
- Speaker's forum to concentrate on countries and specialized themes
- "Site inspections" plus other projects part of program
At Real Estate North, the event's organizers and commercial property exhibitors will be showcasing their own projects in the marketplace, while a range of additional prospects will be highlighted at the associated speaker's forum. This international tradeshow makes its debut on 2 and 3 June at the Tango Terminal at Hamburg Airport. "It is our objective to establish Real Estate North as an international hub for the real estate sector," explains Alexander Wurst, Vice President for International Trade Fairs at Deutsche Messe. "We will be offering information, communication and new leads which can help drive commercial property deals," he continues.
Attending professionals can find out about the service supply chain, from construction and purchasing to building maintenance and management. Regional authorities, investors, property developers and brokers will present the commercial real estate investments - from trading to logistics - that are currently available in northern and northeastern Europe.
The involvement of political dignitaries at the debut installment of Real Estate North underscores the significance of the event. Senator Axel Gedaschko, Head of Hamburg's Ministry of Economic and Labor Affairs, and Dr. Oliver Liersch, Lower Saxony State Secretary of for Economics, Labor and Transportation, will officially open the tradeshow on 2 June. "Hamburg will further consolidate its role as northern Europe's leading logistics metropolis. The Senate is investing in the location and providing Hamburg-based logistics enterprises with additional impetus, ensuring continued demand for investors, project developers and construction companies. Given the current economic situation, this is a welcome state of affairs," comments Gedaschko. "Lower Saxony maintains traditionally good business relations with Scandinavia and the Baltic countries. The concept of Real Estate North also offers a good display window to present the strength of Lower Saxony to these economic regions. Showcase projects as Jade Weser Port, Offshore Basis Cuxhaven and Braunschweig Research Airport will be shown", said Liersch.
Real Estate North Forum provides international prospects
The event's supporting program has the objective of facilitating knowledge transfer and promoting new lead. Visitors can acquire tips and scientific background at the two-day Real Estate North Forum. The main focus will be on countries and specialized themes, with representatives from business and government providing facts on the real estate sector in the northern German metropolitan regions and Scandinavia as well as eastern European nations.
The forum will also delve into specialized themes: trading, logistics, financ ing, green buildings, energy, public sector and careers. Industry insiders will sketch out solutions approaches to different situations, for example: What are the prospects for trading? What will follow the age of department stores? What banks are offering financing to whom and at what conditions? How can logistics achieve greater efficiency and sustainability?
The foreign representatives of Deutsche Messe are already busy internationalizing Real Estate North - fielding queries from the target countries of Poland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Denmark, Norway, Sweden and Finland. Numerous commitments have already been received. The Polish regional development agency Katowicka Specjalna Strefa Ekonomiczna S.A. from Katowice, for example, has signed on as an exhibitor. And the cooperation partners for Real Estate North - the regional development agencies for the Hamburg metropolitan region - are actively campaigning for more exhibitors from northern and northeastern Europe.
Exciting projects at your fingertips
Real Estate North will be offering concrete "site inspections", for example the Jade Weser Port in Wilhelmshaven, a joint project of the State of Lower Saxony and the City-State of Bremen. Some 350 million euros are scheduled for investment in the port's superstructure.
Within the scope of an EU-funded project, tradeshow partner Süderelbe AG has drawn up a master plan involving various industrial locations of logistical significance in the southern metropolitan region of Hamburg - locations with a national significance for the logistics sector which will help reinforce Hamburg's development potential.
Another project involves the former Motorola property in Flensburg. This 34,000 square-meter building on 17 hectares of land is being sold by the WiREG regional development agency on behalf of the city of Flensburg, offering excellent conditions for production and logistics enterprises.
