FG Burnett - Retail - Inverurie, Station Road

Demolition work has been completed at the site of a proposed new retail development in the heart of Inverurie town centre, in Aberdeenshire.

Buildings at the rear of the former Gordon Arms Hotel on Station Road are have been removed to make way for a development which will include three or four retail units creating around 6,000 square feet on the ground floor. The units are available on the basis of long-term leases

The internal design for the £1 million project by Birchwynd Limited is currently being finalised and may incorporate retail/showroom space on the first floor, or possibly residential accommodation on the upper floors. A planning application is due to be submitted soon.

Partner, Richard Noble, commented: "The Station Road site is an excellent retail location strategically located in the town centre between Market Place and the Tesco store/Garioch Shopping Centre and close to the railway station. The development will enhance the role of Inverurie as an important district shopping centre."
