Superdrug And Phones 4 U Ltd take a total of 7,581 sq ft at the Harvey Centre, Harlow.
The Harvey Centre, Great Portland Estates Plc's 37,161 sq m (400,000 sq ft) shopping centre in Harlow, continues to attract top class retailers with the letting of two more units - to Superdrug, the leading health & beauty retailer, and mobile phone specialist, Phones 4 u Ltd.
Superdrug Stores Plc has extended its existing unit and taken 551 sq m (5,931 sq ft) of sales space on the ground floor. A new 20 year lease has been agreed from 18 August 1998, at a rent of £175,000 per annum. The store, featuring the new design format, will be re-launched on 19 October 1998.
The health & beauty retailer, a wholly owned subsidiary of Kingfisher Plc, has over 700 stores in both high streets and shopping centres throughout the UK, and stocks over 6,000 product lines, including its own brands.
Superdrug Stores Ltd was represented by Jackson Criss in the negotiations.
In addition, Phones 4 u Ltd has taken 153 sq m (1,650 sq ft) on the ground floor, next to River Island. The deal is based on a 15 year lease at a rent of £68,100 per annum. The shop opened its doors on 17 July 1998.
The mobile phones specialist is currently implementing an active expansion programme and the Harvey Centre outlet is one of more than 50 Phones 4 u stores throughout the UK. Other recent openings have been in London's Oxford Street, Watford, Guildford, Brighton and Croydon.
Phones 4 u Ltd is represented by O'Connor Associates in the South East of England while Gooch Webster is the agent for the rest of the UK.
