Gem Distribution has received planning consent for the first phase of a new 4,400 sq m office headquarters on the Harlow Business Park in Essex. The new hi-tech campus style development will replace the company’s existing HQ in Lovet Road, Harlow.

As the UK’s leading specialist trade distributor of leisure and business software, peripherals and DVD films from companies such as Microsoft, Nintendo, MGM, Warner Brothers, Symantec, Infogrammes and Corel and Sega, Gem needs additional accommodation to handle increased business.

Work started on the first phase of 2,200 sq m in May 2002 with completion planned for January 2003. sbh.uk is acting as Design and Build Project Manager and Employer’s Agent, and its in-house architects designed the building.
