Abstract:
This latest edition of the Manchester City Centre Crane Survey offers a snapshot of development under construction in the first quarter of 2005.

We look at major development activity currently underway, as well as progress on those projects which were under construction at the time of last year's Survey.

A large proportion of the prestige developments under construction in the City are long-term development projects, continuing from previous years' Surveys. The number of 'new start' development projects has dipped compared to previous years, which is perhaps a reflection of these longer term projects that remain under construction. Despite this, major investors and key players are continuing to come forward with schemes not only in well established areas in the City but also in the more peripheral and challenging areas such as Cornbrook and Ancoats.
